Quality Control & Test Data
Electronic grade cloth is judged on measured values, not on appearance. Every production lot is checked against its specification before it is packed and released.
Tests run on every batch
The same set of checks applies to every style. Tolerance bands differ by style and are stated on the individual data sheet.
Area weight & thickness
Measured against the agreed tolerance band for the style. These two values drive resin pick-up and finished board thickness, so they are checked first.
Warp & weft density
Ends per inch in both directions. Density determines how the cloth behaves under resin impregnation and how uniform the dielectric layer will be.
Tensile strength
Warp and weft tensile strength reported in N/25 mm, to confirm the cloth will withstand handling and impregnation without damage.
Organic content
Percentage loss on ignition, which reflects the sizing and coating chemistry present on the cloth and how it will behave during lamination.
Visual & dimensional defects
Bow weft, fray width, joint count and minimum splice length are inspected and recorded per roll, against the limits agreed for the order.
Roll records
Each roll carries its lot identification so that results can be traced back to the production run it came from.
From yarn batch to delivered roll
Because yarn drawing, weaving and coating all happen within the same facility, production records stay with the material. That means when you receive a shipment, we can tell you which yarn batch, which loom and which finishing run produced it.
If a lamination issue appears months later, that traceability is what makes a useful investigation possible — instead of an argument about whose process was at fault.
How values are normally quoted
| Parameter | How it is quoted | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Area weight | g/m², nominal with tolerance band | Controls resin pick-up and laminate weight |
| Thickness | mm, nominal with tolerance band | Determines finished board thickness |
| Warp / weft density | Ends per inch | Sets dielectric uniformity |
| Tensile strength | N/25 mm, warp and weft | Handling and impregnation resistance |
| Organic content | % loss on ignition | Reflects sizing and coating chemistry |
| Width | mm, 1270 +10/-0 standard | Loom and cutting constraints |
Actual tolerance bands are agreed per order. Request the data sheet for your style and we will state the specific limits.
